More Pipes

Here's another good use of piping -- as a curtain rod, with burlap curtains. The extra long curtain rod -- across the entire window wall -- gives it more impact (and lets you mount it "straight on").

  1. Forget the curtain rod, that lamp is awesome!

I recently built shelf units in my living room (the one you helped me with) and my kitchen. They look awesome and it's just pipe, pipe fittings, and stained boards!

  2. Have you seen The Sorcerer's Apprentice yet? Decent movie, but the best part was the decor -- very Steampunk. I thought of Steampunk Home... just had to recommend it.

  3. Ah, I agree with geek. That light is so fantastic! Like other commenters, I stumbled upon you via the Great Google. I've only just realized that the style my hub is addicted to is Steampunk. A related post on my blog is here (http://mycanadianabode.blogspot.com/2010/06/plumbing-shelves-via-apartmenttherapy.html) - it highlights shelves made out of pipes.

  4. That's definitely taking advantage of the uses of pipes, Sara. But what type of material was it made of? Was it galvanized or brass? Well, if it is brass, then it is definitely made to give your house that added decoration it needs. On the other hand, if it is galvanized, then expect the pipes to have a longer lifespan.
