More Pipes

Here's another good use of piping -- as a curtain rod, with burlap curtains. The extra long curtain rod -- across the entire window wall -- gives it more impact (and lets you mount it "straight on").

Porthole!

Nothing like a porthole to add some nautical industrial flair to your space...

Embarrassingly enough, I collected these pictures so long ago I no longer have any recollection of where they came from. (Some are obviously from redcover, a stock photography service for interior images.)

Paper Curtain Template

The Martha Stewart Halloween Special Issue (I know, I know -- I read these things so you don't have to....) has instructions for creating these elegant paper window curtains (along with a template).

I like this idea -- do it in a Victorian wallpaper or wrapping paper (maybe glue it to cardboard first) and you'd have a very inexpensive and very unique window covering.

My new curtains!

I just got these curtains last night and put them up in our "morning room." They looked fabulous this morning with the sun streaming in through them, but my digital camera's battery was out. I'll get a picture, though, don't worry!
