I believe that Steampunk is more than just brass and watchparts. It's finding a way to combine the past and the future in an aesthetic pleasing yet still punkish way. It's living a life that looks old-fashioned, yet speaks to the future. It's taking the detritus of our modern technological society and remaking it into useful things. The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec

I have read about this in Empire, but not seen a trailer. Not sure how steam punk it is nbut it looks great fun. It's been ages since Luc Besson has done a movie, and even longer since a good one. In French too which is promising! Thanks for posting it
