The only energy efficient lightbulb that I'm tempted to put in my home -- wouldn't this look great dangling from a Edison chandelier?
By Switch Lighting, this LED bulb is supposed to put off the same yellow toned light as the incandescents we've grown up with. It should be available in stores in October.

I believe that Steampunk is more than just brass and watchparts. It's finding a way to combine the past and the future in an aesthetic pleasing yet still punkish way. It's living a life that looks old-fashioned, yet speaks to the future. It's taking the detritus of our modern technological society and remaking it into useful things. Join me as I search for items for my house that combine the scientific romanticism of the Victorians with our real present and imagined future.

I totally agree, I already signed up for email alerts from Switch and can't wait to check their products out in person!
These are fantastic and something I'd love to add to our product mix at the store.
Thanks for posting!

Wow. It is fantastic.
Gorgeous!!
Beautiful. And an excellent solution to a problem: The government here in Canada has ordered that incandescent bulbs will no longer be available. But florescent lights can trigger health problems such as migraines and epileptic seisures. LED bulbs cost around $30.00 each. Hopefully, these will have a more reasonable price. If so, I am getting some. I have added myself to their email list.
I love it. But I hate that yellowish tint.. Its always given me headaches and hurts my eyes.
Yes!!! finally! I love LEDs in principle but love clear Edisonesque bulbs aesthetically. Finally there is a bulb worthy of the Greyshade Estate. But the big question is: What will it cost?
Wow! It's about time they came up with something like this! Thanks for sharing!
omg, thanks for the light bulb info, I HATE the new ones, everything looks wrong!
This is so going in my home! Thanks for posting!
Want to try it out for sure! Must pencil in a note on my October calendar!
