I believe that Steampunk is more than just brass and watchparts. It's finding a way to combine the past and the future in an aesthetic pleasing yet still punkish way. It's living a life that looks old-fashioned, yet speaks to the future. It's taking the detritus of our modern technological society and remaking it into useful things. Join me as I search for items for my house that combine the scientific romanticism of the Victorians with our real present and imagined future.

Happy 4th Birthday to the Steampunk Home!
It was about 4 years ago that I started this blog. I hope you've enjoyed the ride as much as I have!
Congratulations! I thought I'd leave a message - I know that blogging can often seem like you're not connecting with anybody. I enjoy your work on the blog, and I share your vision of steampunk primarily as a form of cultural reconnection. Thanks again, and please keep it up.
Congrats on your four years, Sara! It's been so fun and inspirational to follow your blog. Even when you aren't posting for a while (life & steampunklets, know how that goes) I can always return to my favorite stories and images! Thanks for all your hard work!
