Did you see the movie
Stardust? It's a sweet fairy tale, but the eye candy by production designer Gavin Bocquet is what sold me.
Bright, colorful marketplaces.
Shops that sell lightning (to airship pirates!)
Spooky Grand Halls
Gypsy Caravans
And did I mention airship pirates?
I loved the costumes and set :)
ReplyDeleteI loved the movie AND the book - which was quite different. :)
ReplyDeleteThe movie was great visually, but I loved the novel by Neil Gaimon...the audio version that Neil himself performed. He is an AWESOME storyteller!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this movie. I've watched it probably 6 times. I love the sets, costumes, and of course you gotta love those airship pirates.
ReplyDeleteReally liked this! and pretty much love anything Neil Gaiman. But I bought the DVD for the airship pirates. ^_^
ReplyDeleteAnd can you ever see Robert DiNiro the same again?? He was fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteOi, cap'n, we always knew you was a poofta! Great movie.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally in love with this movie - although I HATE that dress Michelle Pfeiffer is wearing. I think this is one of my favourite De Niro and Ricky Gervais roles ever.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the French film Vidocq?
ReplyDeleteVery steampunk and awesome.

:D
Completely forgot about this movie until you reminded me. Now I want to rewatch it!
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite movie of all time. I'm the kinda gal that only ever watches a movie once. And that's it. Yet I have watched Stardust five times, even bought the DVD for myself and have read the book twice- LOVE it. Glad I discovered your blog- I'm loving the steampunk jewelry look and was researching THAT and it led me here:)
ReplyDeleteGreat movie, great book.
ReplyDeleteBut the airship pirates are lightning catchers that sell the lightnings to the shop ;-).
