Steampunk Fabric Contest at Spoonflower

Spoonflower -- a custom fabric printing site -- is sponsoring a steampunk fabric contest. There doesn't seem to be any prize other than the glory, but I like anything that increases the amount of steampunk options available for home decor projects.

There's already a number of designs uploaded! Here's my favorites:

Steampunk Network
The repeat on this one is awesome...

Steampunk Aviation
I like the kid friendly colors here -- great for a nursery?

Grate_-_Rusty_Iron_Grill_with_Triangles_512x512
This one has a lot of potential for large curtains -- I'd pair it with stained concreate floors and a relatively strong industrial Victorian vibe.

Need help getting started? Wait for my next post for a site full of inspiration!

Designs are due by 2/15.

Thanks to Projektmanagerin for pointing this out.

Oh, I love that fabric with the hat and pipes! I so hope I'll be able to buy it - no idea what I'll do with it, but I'd love to do something. :)

OH, Goodness... I am SO new to steampunk but am fascinated by it... Thanks for sharing... So neat!! I just showed my hubby some examples of steampunk that I got offline... and he thought it was neat, too. We may have to incorporate some steampunk touches in our home. it suits him and me. A lovely blend of Victorian and fun stuff...

Love the idea. I was a bit taken aback by the third entry, as it is a very common texture in Second Life (TM) freebie texture packs.
I very much hope it was submitted by the original creator of the texture.

Hi! I'm delurking (I've read every post now...loving this steampunk for the home! I did some of this for my wedding though it was way more steam than punk to show you something I spotted this morning on HSN. It's an air purifier that looks awesome and the top could easily be steampunked for a FAB mad scientist addition! :)

Hi Fogwoman! Thanks for the concern, but yep!, the rusty grate texture is the same one I give out in Caledon. I have a few others up on Spoonflower you'll recognize. I wish it weren't so expensive, but it was really, really nifty to have "Caledon" fabric in real life.

And, since I actually do give away these textures for free-as-in-beer, it's ok for others to use them on Spoonflower without compensating me. Credit's always nice, of course. :)
