I believe that Steampunk is more than just brass and watchparts. It's finding a way to combine the past and the future in an aesthetic pleasing yet still punkish way. It's living a life that looks old-fashioned, yet speaks to the future. It's taking the detritus of our modern technological society and remaking it into useful things. This drafting stool reminded me of my student days, when I went to buy a drawing board. Many years before these things went metric in the UK, the imperial measurement for drawing board sizes was the ELEPHANT. So I bought a half elephant. It's the only time I've ever taken an elephant home on a bus...
